John Krasinski — “Bye Bye Bye”

In the early 2000s, there were two teams: Team *NSYNC or Team Backstreet Boys. Even today, they’re still deeply beloved; *NSYNC is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 30 and BSB are still actively touring.

During his LSB appearance, John Krasinski made his boy band allegiance clear when he performed “Bye Bye Bye.” Sadly, the band has been “on hiatus” since 2002, but if they ever do get back together, Krasinski most definitely deserves to be an honorary member.

In true boy band fashion, John rocked a headset mic for the performance. More importantly, this left his hands free to do “the puppet” dance as seen in the song’s video. It’s satisfying to think that Krasinski must have practiced and perfected this move at home, because it was far too polished to be improvised.

No one can ever truly capture the soul of JC Chasez’s belting notes, but John Krasinski came pretty close. He didn’t walk away as the battle’s champion, but that’s only because Anna Kendrick had a sneaky move up her sleeve.
