According to Lifetime, this week’s Project Runway All Stars episode 8, “Mizrahi Madness,” features the following.
"Isaac Mizrahi’s exhibit serves as inspiration for colorful party looks; legendary supermodel Carmen Dell’Orefice serves as a guest judge."
A bright, bold color palette can be a delight on the runway. The color makes a statement. While no woman wants a dress to wear her, a bright color can enhance a women’s strong personality.
For the designers to succeed in this week’s challenge, they need to find a way for the bold colors to enhance their concept. If the bright colors overpower the design, the look will most certainly fail. A few designers should be wary of this potential pitfall.
Last week, Joshua was quite catty on the runway. His rebuttals to the judges were quite dismissive. While he avoided elimination, he might have dug himself a hole with the judges. This week, his design needs to be super impressive. The bad behavior from last week could leave the judges highly critical of his look.
Since this challenge involves bright colors, other designers might struggle as well. Even though this season hasn’t had runways filled with little black dresses, the colors have been quite muted and subdued. Requiring the designers to embrace bright, bold colors will either be highly successful or a huge trainwreck.
