Mark Hamill might Force project his way into the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie
By Mia Johnson
Director James Gunn and Mark Hamill discussed the possibility of the actor joining Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on Twitter.
Imagine it: Luke Skywalker fighting right next to Star-Lord in the alternate universe story of your dreams. Well, that might not be a fantasy anymore, because Mark Hamill could actually appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 all because of a one fan’s tweet.
On Sunday, Twitter user Ian Fee tweeted a simple request to Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn asking if Mark Hamill could somehow make his way to into Guardians 3.
And through good fortune from the Twitter gods, James Gunn found his tweet.
So what did James Gunn think about the proposal? From his tweets, it sounds like he’s all in for the plan. He wrote that Hamill lives around the corner from him, so that would make it perfect for the two to meet up and discuss some ideas on how to work Hamill into the script.
And through more good fortune, Hamill himself found Gunn’s tweet and was more than delighted at having the chance to appear in the movie.
And so, a DM exchange could be happening right this moment with Gunn and Hamill discussing his involvement in the film. Because the movie, much like Star Wars, has living species of all sorts, Hamill might have some fun and appear fully dressed up as an alien. Or he can lend his Joker-like voice in some kind of cameo. Little is known about the film so far, so the possibilities are endless.
During Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, another high-profile actor got his chance to slip into the film. Sylvester Stallone played Ravager Stakar Ogord, but his casting was kept completely secret until he was spotted near the set during filming in 2016. So although we don’t know if and how Hamill will be involved in the movie, at least it won’t be a big surprise if we see him popping up on set.

If you know all about the Guardians lore, what character would you like Hamill to play in the next movie?
