Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: A gray and green clue
Will Game of Thrones season 8 return to a farflung castle, or at least try and return to that castle? New images suggest that it’s possible.
Warning: Game of Thrones season 8 could be making things particularly interesting with these potential spoilers.
We know some of the locations that will appear in Game of Thrones season 8. Most prominent are, of course, King’s Landing and Winterfell. But there are more than just those two locations on Westeros, and r/freefolk has found suggestions and hints that a third location could play into the final season of the show.
In fact, as user EveryFckingChicken and the original poster on Twitter, GoTlike Locations, both note, this area in Northern Ireland has been used to stand in for Pyke before.
Check it out below:
Yeah, it’s hard to miss the giant green screen. Unfortunately, we don’t have confirmation that this is a Game of Thrones location, but r/freefolk points out that this used to stand in for, among other locations, Pyke.
While we haven’t seen much of the Greyjoy bastion as of late, we do know that Euron Greyjoy still has his niece, Yara, in his clutches. Could it be that he’ll end up killing her, too, in an echo of how he killed her father? That seems like a possible, but not necessarily likely, theory simply because of how EveryFckingChicken notes that this appears to be an entirely new set. (Then again, it’s possible they want to build it differently this time around to make filming easier.)
Theon didn’t make many appearances after setting out to try and rescue his sister, either. While we don’t know exactly what’s going to happen just yet with the Greyjoys, it seems like a safe bet that they’ll be showing up and wrapping their storyline up as well. Leaving them hanging probably would make season 8 seem strange or otherwise incomplete. Even though they’re not necessarily main characters in the same sense as someone like Jon Snow, Theon in particular has been around since the beginning, and Yara since season 2. And that makes them at least a little important.
