Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 5 episode 9 preview: Best Laid Plans

With humanity’s survival on the line, Agents of SHIELD looks to stage a revolution in this week’s brand-new episode. Here’s your preview!

Agents of SHIELD is stuck in a fun time loop. Well, it’s not really fun. Time loops themselves are never really fun. And who knows where this one will lead us?

I like to think of this season’s story line/time loop in the same vein as The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. That one key thing is missing, and this time through, they can make it work.

We have to hope so, for humanity’s sake.

All of that being said, our SHIELD friends still need to find a way to make it to the past. With Robin no longer alive to give them instructions on how to get there (if she’d give them out at all), they’re on their own.

They just need to get Flint safely off the Lighthouse or they might just be doomed. At least in this particular time loop/alternate universe.

The official synopsis, courtesy of ABC:

"Mack, Yo-Yo and Flint fight to keep everyone alive by starting a revolution against the Kree."

So it sounds like no one will be going to the surface of the Earth to try to find more pieces of the Monoloth. Not until the next episode, at least.

Who knows if that’s all Flint is for, even! I have this hinting suspicion that Flint may be the key to stopping whatever quakes apart the world in the past. All we’ve seen is video of the last time Daisy was seen alive, just before the world exploded. What if she needs him to help her keep something else at bay?

Next: Avengers 4: Is there hope for Bucky Barnes?

Maybe it’s a bunch of stone Talus from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Maybe there’s a crazy crossover coming and we don’t even know it!
