Avengers 4: Is there hope for Bucky Barnes?

The Russo brothers have alluded to the technology used in Captain America: Civil War coming back in Avengers 4. But what technology is that?

When it comes to who we trust in the Marvel universe, we look no further than the Russo brothers. The two responsible for the Captain America movies and more, they’ve never really let us down. So when they brought up the technology used in Civil War making a comeback, we were intrigued.

That technology? Well, the theory, as put forward by CBR, is that Joe Russo was referring to the tech that Tony Stark used to recreate the last moment he shared with his parents. My first instinct was that it was going to be used to give us some more young Robert Downey Jr., but I think it is a lot deeper than that.

Another dumb theory I had was showing the Avengers what they’d look like with different hair styles, and that’s why everyone has a new look. But a more serious take would be that it could be  a way to help Bucky Barnes remember.

We left the end of Captain America: Civil War with Bucky Barnes telling Cap that he needed to be frozen until they figured out how to get the trigger words out of his head … only for him to show up in the Infinity War trailer. So what if they help Bucky by helping him relive the parts of his life that made him James Buchanan Barnes?

Maybe it’ll even lead to Bucky finally getting that haircut that I want him to have because seriously, you can braid that hair. It’s too much.

So is this for certain what the tech is going to be or what it will be used for? No, but it would be a nice addition to the story and help us get the Bucky Barnes back that we got glimpses of in Captain America: The First Avenger.
