Have you ever seen two items that seamlessly go together? It could two colors, balanced flavors or a perfectly matched couple. A perfect pairing is a beautiful collaboration. In this week’s Project Runway All Stars, the designers must create a perfect pairing to keep their runway dreams alive.

Lifetime shared the following clip as a preview for Project Runway All Stars season 6 episode 3.
In a separate program, the scene is set for the basis of this week’s challenge. The designers, who were paired together, must create individual looks based on a dish and wine from New York’s acclaimed Daniel. This impeccable, award-winning restaurant creates impressive French dishes. Each dish is masterfully paired with a flawless wine. The designers must use the dish and wine pairing as inspiration for their looks.
Finding inspiration in food and wine is a curious challenge. Of course, colors and textures can influence these designs. But, what other influences could food and wine offer? Could it be the stone fruit notes in an oaky chardonnay or the delicately plated pattern of carpaccio? If a designer could fine a less obvious inspiration, the result could be quite impressive.
Of course, a pair challenge is difficult. Adding to the tension is the fact that two designers will be eliminated this week (yes, the bottom pair will be sent packing). Since some of the design pairs have opposite aesthetics, their ability to complement each other’s looks might be quite difficult. Then again, complimentary looks don’t necessarily mean that the looks need to match each other. Sometimes, opposing forces work better than two similar ones.
