Golden Globes predictions: What is going to win in the television categories

This is the year of Laura Dern. Are other women in this category? Yes. Should they win? Yes, but I want to talk about Laura Dern for a second and why I want her to have the world and more. She’s an incredible actress who has been around for ages.

Remember Ellie Sattler? She has continually been an inspiration for women and given us amazing character after amazing character. And Big Little Lies was maybe her best work yet. So why shouldn’t she win?

Yes, Ann Dowd is amazing in The Handmaid’s Tale but so is everyone in this category. They’re all here because they’re the best of the year. Do I think that Laura gave a better performance? Yes but it isn’t really up to me (or any of us really). It is up to the voters. It could be anyone’s ball game but I personally hope that they give Laura Dern the credit that she deserves.

So maybe Ann Dowd will win for The Handmaid’s Tale and she’ll thank Hulu to make the Internet buzz again like it did for the Emmys, and that’d be fine. But I definitely want this one to go to Laura Dern for her work in Big Little Lies.
