Golden Globes predictions: What is going to win in the television categories

Best Actor

The Best Actor categories are pretty stacked this year. For Best Actor in a mini series or motion picture made for television, I think that Jude Law is going to take it home for his work in The Young Pope. That show seemingly came out of nowhere and shocked us all, so it’d be nice to see Jude Law get recognized for it.

Aziz Ansari continues to shine in Master of None and I think that it would be a shame for him to lose. He’s consistently funny and shows us that he has a rare ability to write interesting characters that are different from himself yet true to what he believes. But then again, Aziz is always consistent with his work anyway.

For drama, this one is easy. Sterling K. Brown had the best performances of the year and he has already won the Emmy for his work. He’s incredible on This Is Us and should win, no questions asked.

Will there be some mix-ups? Probably. Anthony Anderson could take it for comedy which would be interesting but not undeserved. Still, I think that these three had some of the best work out there and deserve to take home the Golden Globe for it.
