The drama has returned to the runway. The Project Runway All Stars season 6 premiere airs on Jan. 4. While all of the faces may be familiar to Project Runway fans, the designers can’t rely on past performances.

While the short clip doesn’t share a lot of details about this season, a Project Runway season always has twists, turns and cattiness. The designers seem to find ways to get under each other’s skin. From backstabbing to petty remarks, the season will surely be a firecracker.
It is unclear whether the veterans will compete directly against the rookies or everyone will compete together. While fans might like team challenges, the designers never seem to excel in these type of challenges. Hopefully, the veterans versus rookies designation is just a theme not an extended team challenge throughout the season.
Besides the designer dilemmas, the judges might have their own issues. Returning judge, Georgina Chapman, Marchesa designer and separated wife of Harvey Weinstein, might cause some controversy. Granted, no one should link her into the abhorrent actions of another. Still, people might think twice about her role in this reality television show. Since many of these episodes were probably taped prior to all the revelations, it will be interesting to see how the show will be edited.
In previous seasons, the Project Runway All Stars casts have produced some breath taking fashion pieces. This season should be equally as good. Even though fans occasionally cheer the ultimate disasters, the true fashion forward pieces do speak volumes.
