Star Wars: 10 actors we’d love to see joining the franchise

Viola Davis
Look, Viola Davis deserves everything good in this world, okay? But if you must know why she’s on this list, it’s because she definitely deserves to be in a better big-budget multi-movie franchise than the vast majority of DC Extended Universe.
Come on. Not to knock Amanda Waller as a character, but I’m definitely knocking Suicide Squad, as I have done multiple times since it was released. Some things just don’t change.
But aside from that, Viola Davis has an Oscar, and even though Star Wars is massive, it’d be nice to get a little gravitas from being able to advertise another Oscar winner after Benicio del Toro … kind of didn’t have that big of an impact on The Last Jedi.
Actually, just put her in a similar role to del Toro’s DJ, and watch her knock it out of the park. Maybe she could play the still-criminal but slightly-less-terrible slicer to counteract his betrayal?

Robin Wright
Now, if Viola Davis and Robin Wright had both graced Wonder Woman alongside Gal Gadot and Connie Nielsen, you could not have paid me to leave the theater. I would have just sat through every single showing of Wonder Woman that my theater had. It would’ve been fine.
Okay, it wouldn’t have been fine, but between her work as Antiope and Claire Underwood in House of Cards, Wright has shown that she can handle roles that are both heroic and villainous, but always, always bosses.
I could see her working for either the Resistance or the First Order, even if I think it might be more glorious to see her in the former just because after Laura Dern’s fantastic Vice Admiral Holdo, I am ready for the Resistance to have all of the amazing women leading it and following in Leia’s footsteps.
