Nicholas Gonzalez

This smokeshow is more than just the attractive and slightly brooding cardiologist (with a tattoo on his chest that is, alas, not something the character shares with the actor) he portrays on The Good Doctor. He’s known now as Dr. Neil Melendez, but Nicholas Gonzalez has been in the business for a while. You may remember the San Antonio native from How To Get Away With Murder, or even Pretty Little Liars. But it’s time for this surgeon to become the star.

In addition to playing a perfect doctor, according to his Wikipedia page, it looks like Gonzalez is quite the reader in real life. Swoon.

Susan Kelechi Watson

The entire cast of This is Us has held our hearts hostage from the beginning, but season 2 belongs to Beth Pearson. Susan Kelechi Watson plays this season’s favorite mom of two, and nearly quit acting before the role came along. We don’t know what we’d do without her, and it’s hard to believe it took the show so long to realize her brilliance.

Sure, Sterling K. Brown’s Randall Pearson makes us cry, giggle, and feel things we probably don’t always want to feel on the couch. But we know Beth. Beth is real.

Kelechi Watson’s portrayal of her is dynamic, focused and so specific. It’s time to look forward into the new year and get Kelechi Watson her own movie. She’s our Tuesday night superhero, so maybe it should be Marvel-themed. (Just an idea.)
