Crazy Ex-Girlfriend season 3 episode 7 review: Getting Over Jeff

Jeff was Paula’s first and now she has to go back home for her dad on this week’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. But what about Rebecca in all this?

This week, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend took us to Buffalo to give us a taste of Paula’s old life. When she has to go back to help her dad, Rebecca decides that tagging along would be good for her. Especially since her doctor told her to do something that wasn’t very ‘Rebecca’ like.

So they go back thinking it will be a fun weekend together. Problem is that Paula sees her old flame, Jeff. Suddenly, Paula wants nothing more than to spend time with Jeff again because he was her first everything.

In a wonderful song that may be the best in the series, Paula sings about how Jeff was her first love, her first time, and the very first penis she saw.

Meanwhile, Rebecca is sexting Nathaniel while also getting drunk and being friends with Paula’s dad. It’s a whole thing. But Paula doesn’t seem to care because she’s trying to figure out her feelings for Jeff.

And all it takes is for him to remind her what those feelings meant for her to get over him. It was like a switch went off and suddenly Paula came back. Clearly, there is still a lot going on on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Rebecca is still working through her new diagnosis, everyone is trying to figure out where their relationships stand, but at least Paula is figuring herself out more week after week. Now, if only we could say that about literally anyone else on this show. It seems like everyone is a bit of a mess right now.

But that’s okay, we still love this weird little town of West Covina. Or, in the case of this week, Buffalo.
