Mr. Robot season 3 continues this week, as Elliot struggles to deal with the staggering fall out from events in the last few installments.
Here’s where we are so far. The Dark Army managed to pull off its Stage 2 plans — at a much greater loss of life than originally anticipated. They successfully managed to set up original fsociety members Trenton and Mobley to take the fall for the attacks. (And they also murdered them in the process.)
Also: Angela appears to be in the middle of a breakdown. Tyrell is in jail. It’s possible Darlene blew her FBI deal. Even Phillip Price’s life is spiraling. Everything is basically coming up Whiterose, as the Dark Army seems victorious on all fronts.
Where do we go from here? Well, that seems to be what this week’s episode will investigate.
The official synopsis is, as per usual, extremely vague:
"elliot tries to get ghosted. FWIW it’s the day of all days."
However, the episode trailer gives us a few more details about what to expect.
Apparently three weeks have passed since Stage 2. Elliot is still struggling to deal with his involvement in the deaths of several thousand people. After all, though he tried mightily to stop Stage 2, he and Mr. Robot are responsible for the original hack that led to all this. (And Elliot was so upset by the explosions that his consciousness actually glitched out of the entirety of last week’s episode.)
The trailer shows an Elliot wiping down his own life, but to what purpose? Is he giving up? Or planning some kind of vigilante final run at E-Corp? It could be anything. With so much of the show’s main plot in flux, who knows where it will go next? All we can do is wait and watch.
