10. Monica’s Peephole Frame
Very rarely is it acceptable to just gift a picture frame without a picture in it. Fortunately, with fans of Friends, it’s more than acceptable. It’s the perfect addition to the home.
Along with Gunther’s last name, the show never actually revealed the origin of the yellow peephole frame. Even so, it became an iconic piece of the set. It hung on the back of Monica and
Rachel’s
Chandler’s door for all ten seasons of the show.
Surprisingly, this frame can run pretty high in terms of price. Through Wal-Mart, it costs just shy of $52. Fortunately, Etsy solves that problem. There are plenty of shops on the site with the frame available.
Since Friends is an older show, the frame doesn’t seem to be officially licensed anywhere, but it’s not hard to match the design. It has a bit of a vintage vibe to it, which makes sense given the apartment orignally belonged to Monica and Ross’s grandmother. It’s entirely possible that it was her frame before it was Monica’s.
The frame was one of the more subtle parts of the show, so it easily blends as just a regular decoration but still puts the love for the show on display.
The frame can be perfect for the Friends fan who’s just moving into a new place, and can knock out Christmas and house-warming in one go. Whether it hangs on the door, or holds an actual picture, it’s a good nod to a classic fandom.
Just don’t be surprised if the immediate reaction is “Oh. My. God!”
