17. Build-A-Bear Porg
From Wookiees to Ewoks, the Star Wars universe has a diverse range of lovable furry creatures. For December’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm and Disney created the Porgs. No one really knows exactly what they are, or what they do, but they do know that Porgs are adorable.
Naturally, Build-a-Bear is seizing that golden opportunity. The store announced that Porgs will be part of their minis line, creating an easy gift option for both kids and adults. The animal can be a bedtime snuggle bud, a key player in a Star Wars imaginary game, or just a precious addition to the stuffed animals display at home.
It’s fitting that the porgs are just part of the minis collection, given their apparent size in the movie. Next to Build-a-Bear’s Chewbacca, they are almost perfectly to scale.
As an added bonus, these porgs come pre-stuffed. Not only will that save time in buying one, but it will also save eardrums. As cute as the porg screams are in the latest trailers, having that on repeat courtesy of a little voicebox buried in the porg’s stomach could eventually induce insanity.
Being part of the minis collection also makes this porg more affordable. Where a normal Build-a-Bear friend can cost somewhere around $35, the porgs only cost $12.50 each. It’s an adorable new friend for a loved one — including the family pup – and it doesn’t break the bank.
And really, if Chewie deems them worthy of friendship, it’s best to take his word for it.
