Poldark season 3 episode 8 live stream: Watch the season 3 finale online

Poldark’s third season is coming to an end tonight, and it’s not an episode you want to miss. Here’s how to watch it all online.

Poldark has short seasons. It’s just the way that things go. If you’re a fan of pretty much any British show that comes to America, you quickly get used to the limited number of episodes. You probably aren’t quite a fan of them, but there’s not much to be done about it, frankly.

So it is that Poldark is now calling it quits, at least for this season. As we’ve written about, season 4 is a definite go, although PBS has not, as of this writing, said anything about when it might air in America.

That still leaves us with one more hour in Cornwall before we have to go back to the books and wait for, say, Victoria in January (or The Crown in December) to sate our need for British period drama.

Speaking of that hour, though, it’s time to break down what PBS has proffered as the preview for the finale:

"Elizabeth turns the tables on George. Rev. Whitworth is checkmated. Demelza and Lt. Armitage reveal their true feelings. Poldark makes a vow."

Does this mean we’re actually going to get some of the things that this writer wished for? Could it be possible that things might stop being quite so dreary for all the wrong reasons? What exactly is Ross’ “vow” going to be? That’s the kind of word you throw around for things like wedding vows, so it’s no wonder that that last sentence is preceded by one that involves our vow-maker’s wife and her current admirer.

In fact, all four of these sentences are, loosely, about marriage and those relationships. Even as history continues to loom, it appears that the main concern of Poldark this week is going to be about the personal drama of a small group of people. After earlier excitements with things like Ross going to France, it’s actually quite fascinating. Will this finale keep politics completely out of it?

(Well, no. We know that from the previews, which I discuss in the above-linked post.)
