Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Another day, another hint

A few more sneaky snapshots of a certain Game of Thrones season 8 set appear to have some hints about what it is we’re seeing.

Warning: Game of Thrones spoilers below!

How does some Sunday afternoon Game of Thrones season 8 speculation sound? Good? Excellent, because Winter is Coming (and ultimately Wiki of Thrones) are here to provide the fodder, and we here at Culturess are here to build some theories.

While WiC focuses on the newest structure, which it dubs a tower, we’re actually most curious about something else. It’s a bit tough to spot, but, assuming that this is the same set that caused us to ask about the possibility of a siege, it looks like there’s been some painting done.

That pretty well scrambles any possible theories, as noted in the latest episode of WiC Live, although the original reddish-brown didn’t quite look like much we’d seen before anyway. As a result, it’s not surprising. But now, there seem to be more patches of brick, gray paint, and white paint in different places than before. The white here is presumably the least interesting, because it’s probably primer. (The gray might be too, but that’s less apparent.) In other words, it’s not permanent.

Now, most castles are in a pretty well-defined range of colors anyway, so we’re not really able to definitively say where it is. However, the fact that the painting and augmenting progress has begun suggests that this set should be ready sooner rather than later. There’s still a crane there, though, too, so it’s unclear what the timetable actually looks like.

Regardless, it might be time to keep an eye out for some possible outdoor filming — because while primer has many uses, as the above link points out, it’s also essential for outdoor structures, especially as fall and winter approach and weather gets a little more unpredictable.
