15 top Halloween movie crushes, past and present

3. Alec Baldwin — Beetlejuice (1988)
Fall is the season of flannel, and there are few who wear it as well as Alec Baldwin did in Beetlejuice. Combining that with his boy band hair and his boyish grin, he lands a spot as a Halloween hunk.
Beetlejuice has everything a Halloween movie needs: ghosts, monsters and intrigue. This all comes thanks to Tim Burton; the movie was one his earlier, less disturbing films.
It might be hard to imagine Baldwin as anything but his Donald Trump impersonation on Saturday Night Live now, but he was a pretty popular #ManCrushMonday at one point. Thankfully, we are reminded of that every Halloween, seeing him as Adam Maitland in Beetlejuice.
Before he died, Adam Maitland owned the Maitland Hardware Store in Winter River, CT. This could explain his subtle draw; he was polite and reserved, and had a nerdier look, but viewers knew that he had some brawn beneath the surface.
As he and his wife attempt — and fail — to haunt their former home and scare off the new owners, Alec Baldwin consistently gets to play to his innocent side, drawing as many laughs as he does “awww’s.”
His portrayal of Adam Maitland is pretty similar to his one-episode run as Parker in Friends. He’s unreasonably lovable, though admittedly over the top at times.
It’d be false to say that Alec Baldwin is no longer attractive (although his current Twitter issues certainly knock him down in our estimation), but Beetlejuice was truly him in his prime. Viewers may not dream about him after watching the movie, but he does serve as a nice relief — both visually and mentally — from Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Beetlejuice.
