15 top Halloween movie crushes, past and present

4. Skeet Ulrich — Scream (1996)
Every once in awhile, it’s hard not to fall for the bad guy. In the case of Scream, it was a bit harder.
Spoilers for those who haven’t seen it: Billy is the bad guy. It’s a common horror trope now, making the boyfriend the villain, and with his cold personality, it wasn’t the biggest shock in the world. Still, it was easy to hope he’d just be killed last (which, eventually he was).
Granted, he was a lying, murderous high schooler with no sympathy, but Billy Loomis was incredibly attractive. He was played by Skeet Ulrich who, at the age of 26, looked like an eerily accurate Johnny Depp/Leonardo DiCaprio lovechild.
Today, Scream is a Halloween staple. The iconic mask hasn’t left costume shops since 1996, and every year, the movie reminds us once again how beautiful caller ID is. There’s still a pang of nervousness when a friend needs help picking what to watch and asks “What’s your favorite scary movie?” but we march on.
Scream earned three sequels, and now a series on MTV. With a third season set to premiere in March 2018, the show has a beautiful cast, but no one comes close to Skeet Ulrich.
Along with Luke Perry, Ulrich is also part of the Riverdale cast these days. He plays FP Jones, and was promoted to series regular for season 2. This time around, he’s the leader of a gang, and makes some all-around poor decisions. But, at least with this show, Ulrich gets to play a father with good intentions.
