Skeet Ulrich will be back as a Riverdale series regular and everything is wonderful

The soapy CW drama, Riverdale, promotes fan favorite, Skeet Ulrich, to series regular and now we can see that beautiful scowl forever.

Good news, hot dad fans. In a brilliant move by Riverdale bosses, Skeet Ulrich will now be a regular fixture when the show returns for its sophomore season, and we’re doing a little dance of joy.

As the breakout star of the first season, (or at least in my fan-girl opinion), Ulrich has brooded his way into our hearts as Jughead’s tortured father, FP. FP’s character turned out to be one of the pivotal players in the season 1 mystery, so it makes so much sense that the CW folks would bring him back for more episodes. Besides, have you seen how he rocks that five o’clock shadow? It’s a thing of beauty.

As one of the hottest dads on TV right now, Ulrich (and Luke Perry, for that matter) is totally stealing attention from his onscreen son, and it’s about time the execs reward him for being so

handsome

talented.

Riverdale left us with both daddies in danger, with FP still in jail and Fred Andrews shot in the stomach in Pop’s diner. With this news, however, we know that we haven’t seen the last of FP Jones. He’s most likely going to come back and lead Jughead on his journey with the serpents. We have it on good authority that Jughead gets dark, so he’s definitely going to need his gritty, hunky dad to show him the outlaw ropes.

Aside from the resuming his role in season 2, Ulrich is keeping pretty busy with other projects. Deadline reports, “Ulrich just wrapped a starring role in the Lifetime movie, I Am Elizabeth Smart, and is currently shooting Ryan Murphy’s Versace: American Crime Story for FX.”

Frankly, I would watch Skeet Ulrich read the phone book, but I’m definitely not mad at all these new opportunities to get more of that sultry sulk. He’ll fit in nicely among all that Riverdale ennui.
