Man Crush Monday: Taika Waititi is taking on the world

Suddenly everyone is obsessed with Taika Waititi, and for good reason: He’s great! So is it a surprise that he’s our Man Crush Monday?

Look, if you haven’t watched the Taika Waititi video where he and Jeff Goldblum are supposed to answer Facebook questions, then you haven’t lived. (For those who haven’t, they answer maybe three before going on tangents and cuddling. It is beautiful.)

But right now, we’re all a little obsessed with Waititi and as we should be. From his work in What We Do In the Shadows to now his directing of Thor: Ragnarok, everyone suddenly wants to know who this beautiful New Zealander is.

Waititi isn’t exactly new to the scene. He’s been around for quite some time, but not to the level of directing a Marvel movie. So, it is no wonder why suddenly everyone wants to know more about him. And you should! He’s hilarious, talented, and honestly one of the best out there.

And what a sharp dresser too! One of the main reasons the Internet suddenly grew obsessed with him came from his pineapple romphim that he wore to San Diego Comic Con this year. And it was absolutely perfect (just like Taika himself).

Part of the crew who brought us Flight of the Conchords, he’s good friends with Jermaine Clement and that only makes him infinitely cooler. Basically, you can’t really go wrong with liking him.

There was some stuff recently about New Zealand that people didn’t like, but that’s for another time. He’s funny, he’s witty, and he has given us what is called the best Marvel movie yet. So it is safe to say that Taika Waititi is our new favorite director.

We can’t wait to see Thor: Ragnarok and what else he brings us. We just know it’ll be crazy, wonderful and one of the best because that’s what he is. It also helps that he’s pretty great to look at.
