Thor: Ragnarok’s comedy is apparently physical, too, for Loki anyway

How does one improve upon the funniest scene in The Avengers? Swap out the Hulk for Thor, keep Loki, and add in an elevator scene in Thor: Ragnarok.

As Marvel’s Twitter account gleefully pointed out earlier today, there are just 14 days until fans can see Thor: Ragnarok for themselves. To celebrate, the company dropped a fresh scene just to tease the fanbase a little more.

If you’re still on the Tom Hiddleston train or the Loki train, this may not quite suit your tastes, but for the rest of the fans … and maybe even some Loki fans … there’s something to enjoy here.

Check it out below:

Loki doesn’t even actually draw a weapon. Thor just hurls him at the soldiers. Down they go, and up pops Loki, still clearly displeased that his brother has overridden his wishes yet again. (Who knew he made such an effective projectile all on his own?)

As we said above, this scene really feels like an answer to The Avengers, where the Hulk also throws Loki around.

It’s Friday, so here it is in 60 FPS and HD:

Note that Loki’s protest this time around is not that he’s a god, but rather that he really just doesn’t like what Thor’s about to do to him. (For good reason, too — it does not look pleasant to have your body crash into others’.)

For a moment, it almost seems like we’re about to have a serious moment between the two brothers in the elevator, with them confronting that for better or for worse, they’re different people now. There’s even some soft musical accompaniment that suggests what we’re going to see, but about the time that Loki says “Yeah” instead of a more formal yes, it goes straight from emotional right into the realm of comedy.

And Thor’s little “not for me, it’s not” at the end of it all?

It might not be quite as pithy as “puny god,” but we’ll still take it, because it’s Loki and Thor together again.
