Victoria season 2 features a return and some fancy dress (Watch)

Was anything ever “simpler” for Victoria? She seems to think so in the latest teaser for season 2, and then proceeds to make things very much not simple.

If you recall the first season of Victoria, simple is not really a word you’d use to describe it. Romantic, with Lord M or Albert, yes. Dramatic, certainly. Well-costumed also works.

Well, all three of those actual descriptors seem to be in full force when it comes to the season 2 trailer, and yes, we also used simple for a reason.

Hey there, Lord M. We are totally not surprised that you’re here to offer an older, mostly reasonable perspective to contrast Albert’s romance and passion for Victoria. Note, however, that we only see Her Majesty throwing something that looks like it’s porcelain (and is almost certainly very expensive) directly at Albert. But all the same, we see them also sporting elaborate dress for presumably a court ceremony.

Even though things may not be going well at home, Victoria and Albert are still the queen and her prince regent. They do have to appear in public.

One of our lingering questions, though, is what Victoria’s noticing in the mirror. It’s a brief shot. Her hair’s loose, and she seems to be wearing a nightgown. It appears to be something on her face, or is it just something on her body that she’s noticing?

Victoria, historically, is still pretty young around this time, but that doesn’t mean she’s not going to be very aware of any changes. As we noted with the first footage from season 2, she already has her first child, and it appears the second season closely follows the first in terms of timeline … which means she could be noticing she’s pregnant again.
