If you watched last week’s episode, you know that Fitz is standing at Olivia’s door waiting. Unfortunately, Fitz’s surprise isn’t a welcome one because Olivia was bringing home her new boy toy. How will this encounter unfold? I think that it will end poorly for Fitz.
The Olivia/Fitz relationship has always been a confusing one. With Fitz living the idyllic life in Vermont, he is over the power of the Oval. Olivia has finally achieved the power she has desired. She never wanted to give it up all the power for Fitz. Vermont, and the simple life, was always unattainable.
Truthfully, it seems odd that Fitz would really want that simple Vermont life. Sure, who wouldn’t want to unwind after his tumultuous presidency? Still, can anyone really walk away from the most powerful seat in the world and just live a normal life? Then again, this situation is a television show, and nothing is expected in the Scandal world. Who would have thought Olivia would be in charge of protecting the Republic?
