The Walking Dead crossover: Rumors and speculation
Worlds are about to collide on AMC as The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead are crossing over for the first time in the shows history.
During this year’s New York Comic Con, creator and showrunner of The Walking Dead franchise Robert Kirkman mentioned that a crossover of the two unique shows would be lurking in the near future.
Per Vanity Fair, here’s what he said:
"I think that we’ve finally gotten to a place with Fear the Walking Dead where it has its own identity where we can play with some things. So what I’m going to say, and this is all I’m going to say, is that there are two Walking Dead shows. I’m not going to name them. But there are two. There’s one character that is going to go from one show that I will not name and appear in the other show, which I will not name. Are we going to see an interesting backstory of the Walking Dead character showing up in Fear the Walking Dead? Or are we going to see a Fear the Walking Dead character show up in The Walking Dead, and see a future version of a character? What could happen? Is it going to be something completely different than that?"
This was further confirmed by the official The Walking Dead Twitter account where fans went crazy for the idea:
As excited I am about this crossover, I have a lot of questions. First of all, I think it’s safe to say that the original series is much farther ahead than the spinoff, which means that the crossover event will most likely take place in Fear the Walking Dead. It would only make sense that a character from The Walking Dead appears on Fear to tell their origin story. Unless of course, they do something with flashbacks … But now I’m getting ahead of myself.
The rumor that’s circulating the Internet is that Abraham will be the one who crosses over. This actually makes perfect sense, as he was recently killed off of The Walking Dead and could easily jump into the Fear the Walking Dead cast. He even tweeted out an intriguing message right after AMC announced that a crossover would happen (with some adult language to boot).
Is Abraham our guy? And if so, how would this go down?
Abraham mentioned right after we met him in The Walking Dead that he was originally from Texas, making that location the most accessible to the cast of FTWD who’s based down in Mexico. Will the Clark family meet up with Abraham once they cross back into the United States? Because I’d sell my limbs to see Madison and Alicia Clark team up with him to fight off walkers.

While we waiting for Fear‘s fourth season and to find out who will in fact be crossing over, we have The Walking Dead season 8 premiering on Sunday, Oct. 22 on AMC!
