Three episodes in, Marvel’s Inhumans has a lot of characters doing a lot of different things. Here’s our pick for the MVP of the series so far
We all knew Marvel’s Inhumans had growing pains. We all know about the PR nightmare beforehand and the post-production issues. And those reviews of the first two episodes that premiered in IMAX left a lot to be desired.
But really, it’s not as terrible as everyone said. And this past episode definitely felt a step up from the first two. We got to see some cool Inhuman powers on display and Medusa plead with an ATM for money. Plus Lockjaw finally escaped!
So we’re only three episodes in, but we’re almost halfway through the first season (or the series, fate still uncertain). Which means it’s not too early to make our call for the most valuable player so far this series.
And it’s a tough call—and not because there are so many outstanding characters. The majority of people we’ve seen are pretty much all on the same level.
MARVEL’S INHUMANS – “Behold…The Inhumans” – The highly anticipated new Marvel television series “Marvel’s Inhumans” makes its debut on the small screen with the network premiere of the series’ first two episodes on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. EME IKWUAKOR, GARRET SATO
Maximus does a lot of grandstanding and is reminiscent of Hamilton in “A Farmer Refuted” (from Hamilton), just a lot less fun. Crystal really hasn’t done anything except introduce Lockjaw. Medusa keeps wandering around Hawaii and glowering a lot. Black Bolt just does a lot of blank staring at people.
With how things stand right now, I put in my vote for Gorgon. Not only did he get teleported to earth and immediately take on some soldiers, but he also figured out what happened to Triton. And then encountered some fun native Hawaiians that decide to help him take on Auran.
And his battle against Auran and her Inhuman compatriots? The best battle scene so far, because we get to see some super powers in action.
Plus his hoof stomping is pretty badass. And effective!

With five episodes to go, there’s plenty of room for improvement for any of these characters to become the entire season’s MVP.
