It appears that Zack Snyder will be the only credited director of Justice League

When Justice League hits theaters next month, it looks like Zack Snyder will be the only one whose name shows up in the credits under “Directed By”.

Justice League experienced as tumultuous a summer as anyone else with rumors circulating left and right over the production of the film. Since Joss Whedon took over, many members of the media (including myself) have rightfully held a microscope to his work and questioned what he’d bring to the table in November.

So far, he reportedly changed the ending of the film. Plus, we know that there may be more action sequences, too. (Though, probably of the CGI variant mostly.) For women, he’s a rather controversial choice. In the wake of this Harvey Weinstein stuff, and following a tremendous summer at the box office thanks to Wonder Woman and IT, it really falls to Warner Bros. to play their cards right. Unfortunately, there are many old stories coming forward that could potentially mar Justice League‘s success, but thanks to one tidbit from ScreenRant, it may not be Joss Whedon’s fault this time.

In addition to holding a PG-13 rating, it looks like Justice League will only credit Zack Snyder as its director. Though this comes from the website, the final cut of the film we see in theaters may say something different. Truth be told, giving Zack Snyder sole credit really calms my nerves. Because as I’ve pointed out, Joss Whedon’s opportunity sprung from an unfortunate circumstance.

While he may change things here and there, Snyder did most of the heavy lifting. Snyder found those actors. He shaped the story. And like it or not, those glamorous albeit CGI shots of terraforming and bullets are very Snyder.

Naturally, Whedon will likely receive writing credit. Justice League opens in theaters on Nov. 17.
