Project Runway episode 9 live stream: Watch online
Project Runway season 16 hasn’t been sweet 16 at all. Project Runway episode 9, “A Little Avant Garde”, could be the whimsical fun everyone needs.
Project Runway episode 8 ended in another cliff hanger. As the judges announced Claire as the challenge winner, receiving $25,000, Michael stormed off the runway in disgust. The underlying tension and brooding exploded. Finally, someone was going to talk about the gamesmanship and cheating allegations.
All season, the designers complained that the twins, Claire and Shawn, collaborated on every look. It was as if these two designers had an assistant on every challenge. Even more disturbing was the times when one of their designs mimicked a real outfit or someone else’s design. One of the twins even asked Kentaro if she could “borrow” a look that he submitted in a previous challenge.
Apparently, in this Project Runway episode, Claire, the remaining twin, will get confronted. How will all this drama will play out?. This season hasn’t been like other seasons. Previous designers have gotten kicked off the show for lesser accusations. One designer got kicked out for having a design book in his room. Cameras are everywhere. Why hasn’t this issue been brought up before?
But, drama can’t be the entire episode. This week’s the designers will create a “Little Avant Garde” look. Check out the clip from Lifetime.
It looks like the clients are little kids who love Shopkins. If you aren’t familiar, Shopkins are tiny little toys based on typical items. From food to objects, these super tiny toys are extremely popular. How the designers will make avant garde outfits for kids based on a popular toy, I don’t know.
Based on this clip, we do know that Michael didn’t leave the competition. What else will we find out? You will have to tune in.

Will Project Runway finally go back to being about design and fashion? Hopefully, the drama starts coming from the clothes and not the designers.
