I started watching Riverdale and wow I’m late to the game

I get it, I’m late to the game but I finally started Riverdale. Is it surprising that I can’t get enough of it now? Here’s my tale.

Everyone is in love with Riverdale and for a really long time, I didn’t get it. Not because I didn’t think the show was good but because I didn’t watch. So on this blessed Saturday, I just decided to start and see what all the fuss was about.

Surprise, I’m now addicted. Which is part of the charm of this show. Most people who watch it end up addicted and waiting for the next season. Thankfully, I started it late enough that once I finish this first season, I only have a little bit of time before season 2 begins.

But it makes me question: what is so enjoyable about this show? Maybe it is because we’ve known the Archie comics for years and we love the characters. I remember always saying I was a Veronica while never having known the comics other than the characters names.

But while watching this show, I’ve realized that I truly love everything about this dynamic. Even Archie, which most people don’t particularly care for.

It is just a fun show with a dark twist about it. It managed to bring these comic characters to life without making them cheesy (while they have the ability to become so). The show is just this addictive world of sex and murder and leaves its fans wanting more and more. Which is exactly what you want your show to do.

And even better? Season 2 seems pretty amazing so far.

So what does season 2 hold? Well, we’ll have to wait until Oct. 11 to see. Until then, catch up on Riverdale season 1. It is available on Netflix and check back here on Culturess for more Riverdale news as we get closer to the premiere.
