Wondering when the 2017 Emmys will present the awards you really care about? Here’s the run of the show.
The 69th Emmy Awards will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 17 from approximately 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. eastern time. (Of course, award shows notoriously run long, so the 11 p.m. end time is truly a goal more than anything.) Beloved late night host Stephen Colbert is bringing his talents to the stage of the Microsoft Theater to steer the festivities through 27 (!) awards.
Excepting minor changes — alternating the whether actor or actress is announced first — and the addition of new awards, the Emmy broadcast has kept the same rough structure over the years: comedy awards, limited series awards, variety special and talk show awards, drama awards and finally the show awards: Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Drama Series.
