New Blade Runner 2049 clip shows that everyone is trying to survive

Everything we loved about the original is still present in Blade Runner 2049 and that much is clear in this new clip featuring Ryan Gosling!

Blade Runner 2049 is coming. Will the replicants rise up? Or will Rick and Officer K stop the oncoming storm? Well, we don’t know yet. To be honest, most of us don’t know a lot about the original Blade Runner either.

From continual theories and everyone questioning everything about Rick Deckard and the characters in Los Angeles all those years in the future, we tend to not really know how we feel about the world Ridley Scott created for us.

But you know what Blade Runner 2049 is doing that makes us excited? It’s bringing that world we know and love to us with a little more grounding in 2017. Who knows, maybe if we watched the original when it was released, it would have that same sense of connection as this one seems to have.

This newly released scene does an amazing job of bringing to live the struggle of trying to do what’s right vs doing what is necessary to survive. Officer K is in this strange room, watching as children are put to work and when he’s asked if he’s buying, K shows his badge for the Los Angeles Police Department.

There is just such a poignant moment in this scene. When he says that it is bigger than Officer K, it truly resonated with me. Not because I personally agree with what’s happening. But rather because he, like most in the Blade Runner world, are just trying to get by.
