Game of Thrones: Is it possible that Missandei will stay happy?

Romances don’t always last long on Game of Thrones, but is there hope that Missandei and Grey Worm will get that happy ending?

If you aren’t rooting for Grey Worm and Missandei on Game of Thrones … first and foremost, we do not know what to tell you. Look, their slow burn of a love story has quietly unfolded over the past few seasons, and even the shortened season 7 was no exception.

It’s just pleasant — which is not a word we use often to describe this show — to see these two people, who have both gone through horrible things, find some degree of happiness in each other and in their new positions as adviser to a queen and effectively a general in the queen’s armies.

This probably means things are going to end horribly.

But a lot of the young romances of Game of Thrones have been, for lack of a better word, hasty. We’ve talked about it with Daenerys and Jon (a lot, especially now that the idea is that these two were meant to be together) and how they echo Rhaegar and Lyanna, who also got together very quickly and ended up dying very quickly. Talisa and Robb were the same way, and we even got to watch them die in the Red Wedding.

Of the younger generation of characters, Missandei and Grey Worm have taken the longest amount of time to get anywhere near a bed. That doesn’t come close to guaranteeing their survival, but Game of Thrones might earn a lot of goodwill by choosing to spare these two people.

Just let them sail back to Naath together! If Missandei is right, if she and Grey Worm decided to call it quits, Daenerys would let them do so. Even if it’s at the end of the series, when Daenerys is probably going to be sitting on the Iron Throne.

Next: Can we see more of Brienne of Tarth in season 8, please?

Wouldn’t the biggest twist of all to be let the two of them continue finding happiness, Game of Thrones? Come on … it’s tempting, isn’t it?
