Chris Pine is taking on the Kennedy curse and we’re here for it

We love the Kennedy family and everything surrounding the political American dream. And now Chris Pine is going to tackle Bobby Kennedy for Hulu.

Ever wish Chris Pine would take on one of the Kennedys? Well, you’re in luck! Teaming up with Hulu, Chris will be playing Bobby Kennedy. For those who may be a little behind on their history, let me refresh your memory.

Robert Kennedy, the younger brother to John F. Kennedy, was on the road to becoming the next president of the United States. That is, until, his death. Much like his brother, Bobby was assassinated.

Taking place in Bobby’s younger years, the miniseries is based on Larry Tye’s Bobby Kennedy: The Making Of A Liberal Icon. It isn’t the only Bobby Kennedy property we’re getting either. There is also a movie titled RFK starring Matt Damon in the works.

Why the sudden obsession with Robert Kennedy? Probably because the Kennedys represented an era in our country’s history that is now long forgotten. The politicians who were in it for the good fight, not necessarily themselves.

So while we might be left without leaders like the Kennedys, we at least have their stories to tell. Maybe reliving the magic of what Bobby Kennedy could have been will bring our current political state into perspective.

We currently do not know when the show will be premiering. With everything Chris Pine has coming down the pipeline, including One Day She’ll Darken with Patty Jenkins, it could be some time. For now though, we have plenty of Kennedy films out there to help tide us over.
