Chris Pine: I finished his entire filmography and now what?

Sometimes finishing your favorite actor’s filmography is exciting but now I’ve watched all of Chris Pine’s movies. So, what do I do next?

I finished Chris Pine’s entire film catalog. Don’t worry, I’ll hold for applause. But really, it is a strange experience. As someone who loves actors and watching movies, I tend to get obsessive with a celebrity and then watch a lot of their films.

But I never really finished someone’s entire filmography. Normally because I got over that obsession too quickly or just because I grew tired of the effort. With Chris Pine, it was different. I wanted to support his work and I wanted to be a fan of his who has seen everything. Yes, that includes Blind Dating.

So I did it. I watched every film (with the exception of one that is impossible to find which is a 45-minute cartoon). Still though, I now find myself asking “Well, what do I do next?” and the answer is: start something new.

Which sucks. Maybe I should have waited longer (which is part of the problem with trying to finish someone’s entire work). But if I waited longer I ran the risk of never doing it. I guess what this whole thing is trying to say is that finishing your favorite actor’s filmography is a weird experience.

You go from having their entire work at your fingertips to absolutely nothing. But lucky for most of us, they’re still working. Or at least, for me, Chris Pine is.

So my advice? Stick to your guns. If you want to finish a filmography, do it. Then you get to gloat to your friends that you spend hours watching Chris Pine’s face cry a lot. Which he does in his films. Especially The Finest Hours. He is a sad, cold boy most of that movie and it is really great.
