There’s been a disturbance in the force surrounding Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin Trevorrow is out of the director’s chair. But who should step in?

In the world of pop culture, few movie franchises are as sacred as Star Wars. With the perfect cast of characters, and near perfect storytelling, the choice in directors can’t be taken lightly.

So, when the announcement came that Colin Trevorrow would be directing Episode IX, fans were immediately skeptical. But now, Trevorrow is officially off the project. As the official announcement Tuesday read:

"“Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.”"

For some, the news of Trevorrow’s departure was as unexpected as one of Kylo Ren’s meltdowns.

Whether the decision was mutual or not, the big question now is; who should the lightsaber be handed off to? Well, we of the star system Internet have a few suggestions.
