This article tried to ruin Jim Halpert for us but it won’t work

Jim Halpert stole the hearts of boys and girls everywhere on The Office and now an article is making the argument that we were wrong about him. We disagree.

I was afraid to click on the article that promised to prove that Jim Halpert of The Office was a bad guy. Granted, he wasn’t great in the end. He got so caught up in Athlead that he neglected his responsibilities and his love for Pam.

If you’re lost, let me explain. BuzzFeed posted a lengthy article about how Jim and Pam shouldn’t have been together and how Jim was always a jerk. Which means that the original poster completely disregarded the fact that Jim has ALWAYS hated his job. That much was clear from the beginning.

But you know why he stayed and why he was always at Dunder Mifflin? Because of Pam. He loved her and would do anything for her. And it, in turn, made him love Michael, Dwight, Meredith, Phyllis, Stanley, Kelly, and everyone at Dunder Mifflin.

Look, I guess my thing is, we have so little to love in this world right now. Why do you have to come for the good things? What’s next? There was already the whole “Joey and Rachel were actually meant for each other” argument, which Jennifer Aniston promptly shut down. Is there going to be an op-ed about why Ben Wyatt was actually terrible? (I will fight each and every one of you with my bare hands if you even try to drag my baby boy Benjamin Steven Wyatt.)

I guess just maybe don’t? If you don’t like Jim, that’s fine. You don’t like Jim. But don’t write a whole piece trying to ruin him so then the internet attacks anyone who still does. Because come on, you know that’s exactly what will happened and I’ll go to the grave wanting a love like the love Jim and Pam had.

Next: Is a female-led Lord of the Flies really necessary?

Especially if you give me “Casino Night” and that proposal.
