20 ways Princess Diana’s legacy of good lives on
7. Prince Harry’s Charity Ventures
Harry created the Sentebale Organization in 2006, after his gap year to Lesotho in 2004. Sentebale is a charity for orphans and children from Lesotho and Botswana, who suffer from extreme poverty and are the most vulnerable to the HIV and AIDS epidemic. The organization works to raise awareness worldwide and teams up with local grassroots movements to provide children with care and a better future.
Royal commentator Robert Johnson says he believes Prince Harry took on this initiative to continue what his mother started in the 1980’s: “I think that Prince Harry is certainly trying to model himself on the way that his mother approached charity, he wants to continue that legacy. He’s not afraid to speak about what she did.”
Prince Harry is also active in the Invictus Games Foundation, a charity that gives wounded soldiers the ability to heal through safe competition. His goal as a Prince is to “fill the holes his mother left.”
