Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (August 4)

Revisit the cast of the cult film and series.  It picks up 10 years later, with most of the famous faces you remember, and all the camp and silliness you crave. If you’re a fan of the franchise, this is a must-see.

White Gold (August 11) From BBC

A half-hour comedy from the same folks that brought us The Inbetweeners, this raunchy British series will make you disbelieve what you’re willing to laugh at.  It features former Gossip Girl-star, Ed Westwick, still wearing a dapper suit, but this time, it’s an early ’80s take on his business style.

Atypical (August 11)

Atypical is a heartfelt comedy starring Keir Gilchrist as Sam, an autistic young man who has decided he’s ready for romance. His mother, Jennifer Jason Leigh, tries to help him navigate this new moment, and the show allows us to laugh right along with them.

Marvel’s The Defenders (August 18)

If you haven’t at least read something on the internet about Marvel’s The Defenders, you might need to rethink your wifi provider. It’s almost here and everybody is buzzing about this matchup. The miniseries features a team up of Netflix’s Marvel heroes. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and the Iron Fist all come together to fight Sigourney Weaver as the big bad.

Deathnote (August 25)

Death Note is loosely based on the manga series of the same name. The series follows a young Seattle man has he happens upon a magical notebook that will allow him to assign death to anyone once he’s written their name down. Nat Wolf is Light Yagmai and Willem Defoe is Ryuk.

Disjointed (August 25)

Disjointed is a modern take on the American dream, as a hapless family tries to make their California marijuana dispensary succeed.  Kathy Bates is Ruth Whitefeather Feldman, and she’s as good as ever as the matriarch of this family.
