Harry Potter fans have a new reason to save for a big holiday shopping spree. Christmas in the Wizarding World is coming to shopping destinations across the country this holiday season.

Christmas and the holidays are a magical time for young and old. In the Harry Potter world, the holidays are filled with even more magic. Just announced, Christmas in the Wizarding World will bring the Harry Potter magic to shopping venues across the United States.

From the creators of Harry Potter: The Exhibit, the Christmas experience is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and GES. The new concept is to offer a themed counterpart to the highly popular touring exhibit. Building off the holiday scenes in both the books and movies, the creators seek to transport visitors into favorite characters’ holiday moments.

While specific tour stops haven’t been announced, a few details about the exhibit have emerged. The holiday-themed Harry Potter world will feature elements from a winter version of Hogsmeade. Visitors will be able to visit an Ollivanders holiday-decorated wand shop. Also, the store windows will offer animated holiday scenes. Lastly, guests will be able to take photos with iconic backgrounds and purchase official Harry Potter merchandise.

This type of touring exhibit gives Harry Potter fans a chance to be immersed in the Wizarding World. Both traveling exhibits, like this one, and theme parks continually look for new immersive experiences for their guests. By bringing guests into the moment, the guests have an enhanced memory and are more willing to return time and again. Also, the stories that they share with friends and family are more deeply rooted in the experience, which can lead others to want to visit for themselves.

Anyone who has visited the Harry Potter experiences at Universal theme parks understands how Harry Potter fans are drawn to the experiences. They want to feel connected to the characters that they love from the books and movies. From the wand selection to the authentic food offerings, every little detail is utter perfection. For example, don’t ask for a Sprite in Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley. If the item wasn’t available in Harry Potter’s world, it isn’t available in the theme park area either.

Earlier this year, Universal theme parks announced a Christmas experience coming its the Florida theme parks. This year marks the first time that the Harry Potter world will be transformed into a winter wonder land. Both Hogsmeade, at Islands of Adventure, and Diagon Alley, at Universal Studios, will be immersed in a Christmas wonderland. While all the details haven’t been finalized, nighttime at Hogsmeade is anticipated to be quite spectacular.
