Iden Versio – Star Wars: Battlefront II

I don’t know about you, but I did not get nearly enough of Iden Versio at EA Play. Janina Gavankar absolutely stole the show in her dress inspired by Versio’s character as she, emotional, announced her voice acting for the character and spoke lovingly of her mother backstage. While the focus of EA Play may have been on the huge multiplayer battles, all my attention was on Gavankarm wondering what kind of heroine Versio was going to be and knowing immediately I was going to love her no matter what the answer to that was.

Versio should interest us due to the fact that she is not a rebel — she’s an Imperial soldier, and leader of the Inferno Squadron. She isn’t a blind follower of the Empire, but is loyal to her family and her people and will likely have to reckon at some point with the fact that the Empire, you know, does evil things. It is obvious from the trailer that she’s intended to be a sympathetic and noble character, and I’m looking forward to seeing how she grows, challenges, and affects the structures of power around her.

Also, come on. She’s got to be just amazing in multiplayer mode too, right? Just because she’s not a Jedi doesn’t mean she won’t have some kickass tools to smash things up with.
