Joffrey Baratheon – Game of Thrones

“Unlikable” seems like a bit of an understatement. He’s not just some annoying character with an annoying personality quirk. He’s completely evil and doesn’t have any redeeming qualities. He is probably one of the most despised characters in television history, and his name has made its way in the cultural lexicon, synonymous with unmitigated malice and vicious abuse of power.

Joffrey started out as just a spoiled kid who seemed kind of mean. However, as he realized how much latitude his power afforded him, he became increasingly dangerous to everyone around him, including the seven kingdoms. Aside from his violence against women, his sadistic tendencies, and his penchant for torture, he was just generally dreadful.

The combination of youth and unlimited power made Joffrey the worst kind of villain. He’s not charming or charismatic, and he’s certainly not trying to make his transition to king easier for anyone. Without the power and the crown, Joffrey wouldn’t have anyone in his life -besides his mother, of course. He’d be the kid in high school who was so mean to everyone, that no one would invite him to parties or sit with him at lunch. He’s also the type to grow up to be a serial killer.
