For months we’ve waited on news on Star Trek: Discovery and now we have a pretty secure time frame as well as a new trailer for the series.
The creation of Star Trek: Discovery has come with delays and hindrances that have had fans questioning what is going on. But all that worry and fear went away the minute they released this trailer.
No really, fans went crazy on Twitter with how amazing this series looks. It takes place prior to the Enterprise and their famed crew. Ten years prior in fact. It follows the first woman of color (Michelle Yeoh’s Philippa Georgiou) captain in the Star Trek series and, from what we can tell, this may be the most diverse Star Trek cast we’ve ever seen.
The trailer starts with a line that holds a significant amount of weight. Why? Because this is a world we know nothing about. This is before James Tiberius Kirk ever stepped onto the bridge of the Enterprise. This is a world of Star Trek we haven’t explored and we get to go on this journey with an amazing woman played by Sonequa Martin-Green.
And as you can see, there is a lot in Star Trek: Discovery to be excited about. From a diverse cast to a whole new look at the Star Trek universe we know and love, Discovery is definitely going to be worth the wait. Now we just have to get CBS All Access so we can watch it as soon as the show premieres.
Star Trek: Discovery is coming to us this fall. We don’t have specific dates as of yet but continue to check back here on Culturess for more news and updates as they come in. Sound off in the comments about what you’re most excited about in the new series!
