New Arrow Trailer Teases Intense Season 3 End Game

With season 3 drawing to a close, Arrow releases an action-packed trailer previewing what’s to come. Get ready for lots of showdowns and old friends.

These past few weeks have been quite a struggle, with no Arrow (or any other CW superhero show) to inject comic book fun into the evenings. Luckily, the drought draws to an end soon, and we have plenty to look forward to.

Arrow greeted fans Thursday morning by releasing an extended “sizzle reel” that offers a sneak peek at the remaining five episodes of Season 3. Check it out below:

Excuse us for a moment while we hyperventilate.

Okay, we’re back. There’s a lot to process. First of all, we get glimpses of several familiar faces. We learned in previous weeks that Manu Bennett and Katrina Law are set to reprise their roles as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke and Nyssa Al Ghul, respectively. Bennett doesn’t technically appear, but his gruff Aussie baritone is unmistakable. (It’s less clear why the actor insists he isn’t coming back to Arrow, even though all signs suggest he is.)

Law, meanwhile, will appear for a multi-episode arc. Here, Nyssa comes face to face with her sister, Talia, who recently emerged as a key villain. After persuading Oliver to become the Arrow, Talia trained Adrian Chase to become Prometheus, intent on avenging her father’s death. Something tells us this family reunion won’t last long – or end well.

Also returning are Katie Cassidy, whose Black Siren gets to meet the new Black Canary, Dinah Drake, and John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn. Malcolm has been absent from Arrow this season so far, but he figured prominently in season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow, forming one third of the Legion of Doom.

More observations:

  • Dolph Lundgren’s Konstantin Kovar will somehow make his way to Star City. Oliver thought he killed the crime lord in Russia, but we know Kovar survived with the help of Malcolm Merlyn.
  • Thea will return from her therapeutic break and hopefully get to do something.
  • Prometheus’s assertion that everyone around Oliver is “fated to suffer” suggests doom lies ahead. But it’s hard to imagine Felicity, Diggle, or Thea being killed off, and Juliana Harkavy and Rick Gonzalez have already been confirmed for next season.
  • Oliver and Felicity share an intimate moment! Arrow has tricked fans before, though, so maybe we shouldn’t get our hopes up.

Arrow concludes its month-long hiatus next week with an episode titled “Dangerous Liaisons.” Judging from the trailer, it will focus on Felicity, her ongoing dealings with the shady hacktivist group Helix, and the strain that creates in her relationship with Team Arrow. We’ve been enjoying Felicity’s dalliance with the dark side this season, so we couldn’t be more pumped.
