Early reactions to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 are really, really good. As if we weren’t already excited enough.
If you’re even a casual fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then it’s likely that you’ve still seen Guardians of the Galaxy at least a few times. The 2014 film was a breakaway hit for Marvel Studios, proving that audiences are more than happy to come along on a fun, irreverent ride.
The success of the first film means that everyone has been anticipating the upcoming follow-up, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Director and writer James Gunn and producer Kevin Feige teamed up again to repeat the success of their first effort.
While many of us won’t get to see the film until May, many critics had the opportunity to screen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on April 18. Though official reviews are still embargoed, early reactions from critics have cranked excitement to a fever pitch. Some are even reporting that this follow-up may be even better than its predecessor.

Everyone Loves Groot
Practically everyone loved Baby Groot, the latest incarnation of Groot, the living, sort-of talking gigantic tree that’s become a fan favorite. By the way, Vin Diesel will still provide the voice for Baby Groot. How, exactly, that works out remains to be seen, but we’re sure it’s as fun as anything else in the film. Gunn even says that Baby Groot may be an ever better character than his larger predecessor.
