Three Actors Promoted to Regulars for Season 8 of The Walking Dead

It’s been a few weeks since the season 7 finale, so The Walking Dead decided to drop the news that 3 actors are being promoted to series regulars.

After an intense season 7 finale, it’s pretty clear where The Walking Dead is going in season 8, and TVLine just recently announced that the show is taking 3 specific characters with them as series regulars. That’s right — three characters who played a critical role in season 7 will be promoted in season 8 and we’ll be seeing a lot more of them.

These three characters include Negan’s good pal Simon (Steven Ogg) who led the supplies trade with The Kingdom. You could say he was partly to blame for Benjamin’s death, so that tells you quite a bit already. Next, we have Carl’s buddy Enid (Katelyn Nacon), who is quickly finding her place in this world of walkers and Rick Grimes. Then finally, we have the Scavengers leader Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh), who turned around and betrayed the Alexandrians at the last minute at the end of season 7.

As much as I wanted it to be a full-out brawl during that finale earlier this month, I am happy that they’re setting up next season with a solid plot line instead. Hopefully, season 8 won’t drag on like season 7 did. With the addition of these 3 people as regulars, we could possibly see some serious world development here.

These 3 promotions come after a heavy season of death as we saw 3 main characters killed off and a plethora of supporting roles as well. May Glenn, Abraham, and Sasha rest in peace, but may Simon, Enid, and Jadis provide some good story telling for the many more seasons to come.
