6. Kylo Ren’s Mask?
Although the trailer plays Darth Vader’s iconic breathing noise when this shot is shown, you can clearly see that it is not Vader’s mask, but rather Kylo Ren’s. Look at the center of the image, and you can see the silver surrounding the eye holes.
Now, why in the galaxy would it be smashed to pieces? Remember, he takes it off while interrogating Rey in The Force Awakens, and he doesn’t put it on for the rest of the movie, not even when he gets slashed in the face.
Then again, Kylo does have some anger issues, so maybe he breaks it himself in his rage. On the other hand, perhaps part of rededicating himself to the Knights of Ren means setting aside things that he can hide behind, including a fancy mask that makes his voice sound deeper and scarier.
Or, and this may be the longest shot of all, he leaves it all behind and comes back to the light side of the Force. He’d probably have to stop wearing all black, but we think his uncle Luke might be more lenient than the old Jedi Order in that respect. After all, Luke spends most of Return of the Jedi wearing all black himself.
