Calista Flockhart’s Finally Returning to Supergirl Later This Season

As Supergirl prepares to wraps its second season, news is coming faster than a speeding bullet as it’s confirmed Cat Grant will return later this season.

Everybody remembers Cat Grant, the flawless leader of Cat Co. who referred to Kara Zor-El as “Kiera” all the time and acted as though she didn’t care about anything even though she totally did. Remember how she tried to talk Limewire off the edge? Or how she advocated for Supergirl all the time, and by extension, Kara inadvertently? At the very least, remember when someone competent ran Cat Co. Worldwide Media?

Unfortunately, Supergirl‘s move to The CW meant that we’d get less of Calista Flockhart because shooting moved from Los Angeles (where Flockhart and her family with Harrison Ford lives) to Vancouver (where most DC shows shoot). It’s been a slow, sad season since the second episode when Cat Grant decided to find herself again off screen. But there’s good news!

Cat Grant will return to National City in the two-part season finale on May 15 and 22.

While zero details surrounding her return have been released, that means we may speculate. Combined with the news that Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman will also return, me thinks it’s going to be a big event. Like … a wedding. But who would be getting married? Alex and Maggie? Or Alex and Maggie? I said it twice because that’s all I’m willing to speculate. Unless it’s Mon-El’s send-off party.

But for Cat Grant, hopefully she’ll realize that putting James Olsen in charge was sort of a mistake. And that Snapper Carr is one of the biggest jerks of all time. Maybe Cat Grant will look around and be like, “there are way too many dudes here, let me show you the door.”
