Don’t Worry — “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” and “Marvel’s Inhumans” Won’t Cross Over Either

With “Marvel’s Inhumans” slated for an ABC premiere in the fall, will it cross over with “Agents of SHIELD”? The answer is no. For now.

Marvel already has a problem connecting Agents of SHIELD to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And they’re probably going to continue that trend when Marvel’s Inhumans comes around in the fall of 2017.

Sure, I understand the issue from a logistics side of things. The movies are planned out so far in advance and the television show has to whip its way through twenty-odd episodes that are filmed only a handful of months ahead of their premiere. It’s a little tough to line the two up.

But when there are multiple television shows? And on the same network? You would think there would be a mention or crossover of some sort.

Not so fast! Jed Whedon already quashed those in an interview with Digital Spy, saying:

"“Without being able to say anything really about that show, it will have its own world, just as we tried to start our own world,” he said. “Whether or not there’s a crossover, we will see.”"

It’s a disappointing statement, but at the same time, should we be that surprised? There’s been barely a mention of any of the Netflix series on Agents of SHIELD. And Agent Carter was mentioned a few times, but nothing more than that.

And when it comes down to it: we still don’t know if Agents of SHIELD will be renewed for a fifth season. Sure, you can have a crossover where Daisy shows up at Attilan somehow, but at that point, why?

Then again, we still don’t know too much about Inhumans. It may be more of the foundation of the Inhuman race, thousands of years before our SHIELD compatriots come along.
