Dancing With The Stars Recap: Vegas Night, And Who Went Home

Find out who did great, who bombed, and who went home during the campy Vegas night tonight on our Dancing with the Stars recap!

Tonight’s theme certainly left much to be desired. “Vegas week” meant that the contestants can include, not only songs about Vegas, but songs by any act associated with Vegas performances. In other words, there was no cohesion on tonight’s show. No matter, though, because Dancing with the Stars is nothing if not a hilariously fun time.

There were a few notable dance routines. The biggest one, of course, was Glee‘s Heather Morris’ second performance with her new partner, Alan Bersten, now that Maks has been sidelined with an injury. Morris and Bersten performed a tango, and earned the first 9 score of the season. And if you were wondering where Maks was, there’s no need to worry, because he was phoning in via Skype to offer tips and words of encouragement. He also made it to watch his partner dance. Aw!

But she didn’t have enough time to enjoy her victory before Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei performed a foxtrot with her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy. Despite having to practice in Hong Kong this week, she earned the top score of the night, earning a 34 — and the top spot on the leaderboard.

At the end of the night, Nick Viall (who performed a tepid tango with Peta Murgatroyd) and Charo were both up for elimination. Even though Nick Viall has been working everyone’s last nerve since he first took the stage, Charo announced that she was concerned about her status because she was so mean to the judges last week. So, naturally, even though Charo earned the same score as Mr. T and Bonner Bolton (and we still have no idea who Bonner Bolton is), Charo went home. Of course.
